Creative Roots & Bold Moves

Hey, I’m Kerry — a creatively wired, slightly chaotic, neon-loving designer with a thing for bold visuals and user-first digital experiences.By day, I work in UI/UX and web design shaping accessible, thoughtful digital spaces that are actually enjoyable to use. By night (or in the rare quiet moments), you’ll find me sketching wild, graffiti-inspired characters, customising skateboards or turning T-shirts into bright, wearable art. I like my work a little messy, full of energy, and always human. I’ve never been one for straight lines in life or in design. My path’s taken me from helicopters to e-commerce, government platforms to third-sector sites. Each role has taught me something different: how to think fast, adapt, stay curious and build things that make sense for real people. Offline, I stay grounded in craft, pottery, woodwork, photography, LEGO builds and anything tactile. I recharge outdoors: beach walks in Wales and Somerset, family trips to Spain (my second home), forest trails, sea air. Canada shaped my early years, Cardiff, Wales is where I built my family, and somewhere between the two is where I feel most like myself. Whether I’m snapping street art, getting lost in a new recipe, or solving a design problem that’s been stuck in my head all week — I’m always creating. Always learning. Always chasing the next spark.

Working Experience

How I Got Here (With a Few Detours)

My path into UI/UX and web design hasn’t been straight and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I started out designing in school then a juice bar at the helicopter factory I worked in (yep, really), then moved into the fast-paced world of e-commerce, before landing in government and third-sector projects. Every one of those roles forced me to rethink how I design, how I solve problems, communicate ideas and make things work for people who aren’t just like me. Along the way, I’ve learned to strip things back, ask better questions, and build digital spaces that feel useful, not just pretty. For me, great design isn’t about shouting, it’s about clarity, flow and empathy. I love finding smarter, simpler ways to create experiences that feel effortless on the outside even if they took a hundred tiny decisions to get there.

UI/UX Designer

KeGo Studios - Remote, World

2012 - Present

At KeGo Studios, I work with creatives, startups and small businesses to design thoughtful, user-first websites that actually feel good to use. I focus on clean, accessible design with real personality blending clarity, function and a little bit of boldness. Whether I’m diving into user research, sketching out wireframes or refining high-fidelity prototypes, every project gets my full attention from start to finish. I care about making digital spaces that are not only beautiful but easy to navigate and genuinely helpful. It’s not about trends for me it’s about continuous improvement, real results, and designing with people (not just pixels) in mind.

UI/UX Designer

S8080 - Swansea, Wales

2023 - Present

At S8080, I worked on digital products for government, public sector and commercial clients, designing with real people (not just personas) in mind. From user research to high-fidelity prototypes, I focused on crafting clear, accessible and responsive designs that worked across all devices and needs. I collaborated closely with developers and stakeholders, turning complex requirements into simple, intuitive experiences. It wasn’t just about ticking UX boxes it was about asking the right questions, listening to what users actually needed and making sure the end result felt effortless to use.

Lead UI/UX Designer

United Studios - Pembrokeshire, Wales

2022 - 2023

At United Studios, I led on UI/UX design across a wide mix of projects from bold brand websites to more complex digital platforms. My focus was always on striking that balance between great visuals and real usability. I handled everything from user research and wireframes to prototyping and interface design, making sure each experience looked sharp and felt intuitive. I worked closely with developers and clients to keep everything aligned not just to the brand but to what users actually needed.Every project was a chance to refine the process, ask better questions and create digital work that was both thoughtful and engaging.

Continuous Improvement

ACT - Cardiff, Wales

2020 - 2022

At ACT, I worked on refining internal systems and digital processes to make everyday work smoother for staff and learners alike. My role was all about finding what wasn’t working, the clunky steps, the bottlenecks, the things that made tasks harder than they needed to be and improving them. Whether it was streamlining workflows, reducing admin friction or introducing more user-friendly tools, everything I did aimed to make the experience simpler and more efficient. It gave me a real understanding of how small changes can create big impact and laid the foundation for the user-focused mindset I now bring to every design project.

Continuous Improvement and Web Designer

Leonardo/K+N/Wincanton - Somerset, UK

2007 - 2018

At Leonardo Helicopters, I worked at the intersection of design and continuous improvement helping to shape a more usable, accessible, and efficient internal digital environment. I led the design and development of an internal website aimed at streamlining workflows and supporting employees in their day-to-day work. My focus was on improving usability, reducing friction and building a more intuitive platform that actually made sense to the people using it. This role blended process thinking with early UX instincts and showed me just how powerful user-centred design can be, even behind the scenes.
